Participation
The highly-anticipated Dubai Run 2016 was truly a successful event, breaking records for participation in terms of both number and type of learners. A staggering 18,000 participants from 79 countries were present, a 5% increase from the previous year’s record. These participants came from a wide variety of countries, including United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan, Canada, Nigeria, Germany, India, and France. The event hosted a diverse range of participants, with the youngest being three-year-old children and the oldest being 76-years-old.
The participation of different types of participants, including recreational runners, professional athletes, and disabled athletes, illustrated the spirit of inclusivity in the event. A third of the overall population of participants had a physical disability while nearly half of them were under the age of 18. Of the professional runners, the majority of participants came from the United States and Europe.
The event also attracted prominent personalities, including Olympic medalists, actors, and musicians. These personalities offered sponsorships and expressed their support of the event.
Organization
The Dubai Run 2016 was released with great pomp and joy. It was organized by the government of Dubai in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council. The event planners made sure that the race was held on the most beautiful run-tracks in all of Dubai. The event was sponsored by major corporate entities and all the festivities were held in the most renowned venues in Dubai city.

The second and third prize consisted of 25,000 and 10,000 Dirhams respectively. Highlights of Dubai Run 2016
This year’s Dubai run was a record-breaking event, with notable participants from all over the world. A total of 10,000 runners made the packed streets of Dubai overflow with joy and excitement. The most notable achievement was the record-breaking time of 20 minutes and 7 seconds set in the elite race by Arabian runner, Rashed Al-Mazome.
As the thousands of runners crossed the finish line on the symbolic Jumeirah Beach Front Road, it was easy to sense the sense of triumph and accomplishment. Near misses among other racers created memorable moments highlighted by the spectators’ enthusiastic cheers.
In addition to the competitive races, this year’s Dubai Run also featured a series of exhilarating side events. Participants could race against giraffes and camels to break their own speed records, or take part in a slow-moving crab race. The 5 km “Fun Run” proved to be extremely popular, with more than 5,000 runners enjoying the chance to race together.
